L isa joined ORC HSE in September 2014. She has leadership responsibilities for the company’s Western Occupational Health & Safety Network and the European Union Health, Safety & Environmental Forum, and supports the Corporate Health Directors Network and the company’s flagship, DC-based Occupational Health & Safety Network. Lisa also leads the company’s “New View” of health & safety think tank; is the chair of the planning committee for the 2018 Human & Organizational Performance Summit; coordinates all of ORC HSE’s webinars and Special Benchmarking meetings; and is a key part of the company’s marketing efforts.
Lisa has over 25years of experience in health & safety. Prior to joining ORC HSE, Lisa was theGlobal Manager of Safety& ErgonomicsPrograms forGE. In this role, she provided leadership, oversight and principal technical expertise in human & organizational performance, ergonomics, and health & safety management to greater than 320,000 employees in over 100 countries, who worked in manufacturing, service, entertainment and finance. She began her career as a corporate ergonomist for Alcoa and then spent over 11 years in Corporate Health & Safety with International Paper, where her final position was the Global Manager of Health & Safety Regulatory Affairs.
In 2003, Lisa was selected as the only manufacturing representative to serve on the Department of Labor’s 15-person National Advisory Committee on Ergonomics (NACE). NACE, which was commissioned for a period of two years, was established to advise the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health on ergonomics guidelines, research, outreach and assistance.
Lisa holds Master of Science degrees in Industrial & Operations Engineering and in Kinesiology, both from the University of Michigan, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Mathematics and Fitness from Cornell College.
Lisa is a Certified Industrial Ergonomist and is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and the Institute of Industrial Engineers. She served on the Industrial Advisory Board for the Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee for 7 years, and has served on the Program Committee for the Applied Ergonomics Conference since 2005 and been the program chair since 2015.
